Playing

How do I turn a layer?

Put a finger on a sticker and drag it the way you want it to go: the layer under your finger turns with it. Drag a middle sticker to turn the middle slice. Drag outside the cube to turn the whole cube and look around it.

When does the clock start?

After Shuffle or the Daily Cube you get a short look at the mix. The clock starts with your first turn and stops the moment the cube is solved.

What is the best way to hold iPhone Duo?

Stand it half-open on a table like a small laptop: the cube on the upper half, the coach and the buttons on the lower half. Closed, the whole game plays on the outer display. You set the pose once — the game is played by touch, never by bending the phone.

I made a wrong turn. Can I take it back?

Yes. Undo and Redo, next to the timer, are unlimited.

Learning

I have never solved a cube. Where do I start?

Open Modes and choose Coach. It teaches a seven-step method, one step at a time, on the cube in front of you. Tap "?" whenever you want to see a move played on a small cube first.

Can it help with my real cube?

Yes. Choose Scan my cube and show the six faces to the camera, or Copy my cube to paint the stickers by hand. Check any marked sticker, tap Use this cube, and the coach takes it from there.

The scan read a colour wrong.

Scan in even light, away from glare, and hold each face still until it is taken. After the sixth face you can tap any sticker to fix its colour, or tap Scan again.

Times, leaderboards and data

Why didn't my time go to the leaderboard?

A mix counts once: the first attempt started on it. Restarting, giving up or using Auto-solve ends that chance, and trying the same mix again is practice. Coach, Copy my cube, Scan and the Trainer never post times.

Will I lose my progress?

Your stats and Trainer progress are saved on your iPhone as you play. Deleting the app deletes them; restoring a device backup brings them back. Leaderboard scores and achievements are kept by Game Center.

Does Cube Guru use my camera or collect data?

The camera turns on only for Scan my cube, and its images never leave your iPhone. The app collects no data — see the Privacy Policy.
